On November 28, 2023, Governor Alex Otti led a delegation, including members of the Abia State Executive Council and Commissioner for Works, Engr Otumchere Oti, to inspect the Enugu-Umuahia-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway reconstruction.
Commencing the tour from the Rivers State border, the entourage, escorted by CCECC engineers, assessed progress from the border through Alaoji to the entrance of Ariaria Market in Abia.
Governor Otti, amid enthusiastic cheers from the crowd, expressed contentment with the pace and quality of the ongoing reconstruction. He extended gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for swiftly approving the contractors’ return to the site.
Acknowledging the dedication of Minister of Works, Engr Dave Umahi, Governor Otti emphasized the significance of completing the reconstruction on this vital route that links Abia and Rivers, a road neglected for many years.
