Cole Palmer, the Chelsea midfielder, is expected to be fit for the upcoming Premier League match against Arsenal next Saturday. However, he won’t be available for England’s European Championship qualifier against Ukraine.

During a game against Serbia, Palmer sustained an injury in the first half and had his right thigh bandaged. He attempted to play in the second half but could only last for six minutes before being substituted by Tino Livramento.

England Under-21 manager Carsley provided an update on Sunday, stating, “I think Cole would be fine, but we don’t take any chances with any of the players. If there is a slight doubt that they’re going to miss a game at the weekend, we get them back to the clubs as quickly as we can. We could’ve kept Cole here another day and see how it was, but we didn’t think it was right. Everyone else is fine, with just a few colds and sniffles.”
