The protests in Rivers State have taken a new turn as a middle-aged protester carrying dynamite was killed in an explosion in Port Harcourt. The incident occurred at 9:45 a.m. in front of Hotel Presidential, on Tuesday.
It is understood that he got killed while trying to discharge an explosive.
Eyewitnesses report that the victim’s body was quickly removed from the scene as security rushed to the area.
The protesters, who were en route to their destination, caused significant traffic congestion.
