The case between Oye/Sly and Chief Edozie Njoku is unfolding. The court is currently delivering judgment on the contempt charge against Ozo Victor Oye and Mahmood Yakubu, the INEC chairman.
The contempt charge stems from their failure to comply with the Supreme Court’s judgment on March 24, 2023, which ousted Oye and reinstated Chief Edozie Njoku as the legitimate National Chairman of APGA.
Additionally, the court is addressing the contempt charge against Oye and Mahmood Yakubu for disregarding the court’s order on May 10, 2023, prohibiting any meetings, congresses, or conventions on behalf of APGA until the resolution of the ongoing suit.
Despite the court’s directive, Oye proceeded to conduct an unauthorized convention, declaring Barr Sly Ezeokenwa as the National Chairman of APGA.
During the ongoing judgment, the preliminary objection by Victor Oye’s Counsel, Barr. Victor Agunzi, to prevent the court from convicting Oye and the INEC Chairman and sending them to prison has been DISMISSED. The court has conclusively established that Oye and Mahmood openly defied its order on May 10, 2023, deeming it an abuse of the court process.
