On the morning of April 23rd, 2024, a Dana Air flight, registered as 5N BKI, encountered a runway skid upon landing at Lagos’ Murtala Mohammed International Airport. Despite adverse weather conditions, the pilots demonstrated remarkable skill, guiding the aircraft to a safe stop without incident. All 83 passengers and crew members emerged unharmed from the ordeal.
Attributed to the wet runway caused by early rain, the incident has been promptly reported to relevant authorities, including the AIB and NCAA, by Mr. Kingsley Ezenwa, Dana Air’s Head of Corporate Communications. Flight 5N BKI has been temporarily grounded for thorough investigation and maintenance, reaffirming the airline’s unwavering commitment to safety.
