Governor Siminalayi Fubara asserted that the individuals comprising the House of Assembly under Martin Amaewhule’s leadership lack legitimacy.
He made this statement during a meeting with a delegation led by former military governor of the old Rivers State, Alfred Diete-Spiff, and former Bayelsa State governor, Senator Seriaki Dickson.
The governor emphasized that the House members convene solely because he permits their sessions, dismissing their authority. He also declared his refusal to yield to the influence of the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, despite Wike’s role in his ascension to power.
Previously, Senator Dickson expressed gratitude to the governor and the FCT minister for exercising restraint. The delegation’s visit was facilitated by Ijaw leader and former federal commissioner, Edwin Clark.
