Anambra State Police Capture Notorious Cult Leader “Alagbon” Following Extended Search

The Anambra State Police Command has apprehended an individual identified as Obioma Okafor-Ama, commonly known as Alagbon, who has been a significant source of trouble for the residents of Nise Community in Awka South Local Government Area.

Alagbon, who had been evading the authorities for an extended period, was finally taken into custody by the Rapid Response Squad (RSS) in Awkuzu, following a tip-off received on October 19.

Commissioner of Police in Anambra, Aderemi Adeoye, officially confirmed this arrest in Awka on Friday. He revealed that Alagbon was apprehended at his hideout in Nise after an extensive period of intelligence gathering. Alagbon is accused of being a key figure in a notorious cult group that has been terrorizing the town and nearby communities, leading to numerous incidents of violence and loss of life.

“The infamous cultist and his associates have been on the police’s wanted list for a considerable duration. Alagbon and his group are responsible for numerous cult-related homicides in Awka. We received the news of his arrest with relief and celebration,” a source stated. (NAN)
