Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, Chairs Security Council Meeting to Address Yuletide Security

On October 27, 2023, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, the Governor of Abia State, chaired the third general security council meeting in the state. This meeting was attended by high-ranking officials from various Federal Government security agencies, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, and the Department of State Security (DSS).

 

Additionally, heads of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Immigration, and Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC) were present. The meeting also saw the participation of senior government officials, led by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, as well as other key figures like the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Kenneth Kalu; the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr. Caleb Ajagba; the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ikechukwu Uwanna; Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Navy Commander Macdonald Uba (rtd.); and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Homeland Security, Mr. Chukwunenye Alajemba.

 

Furthermore, Eze Linus Nto, the Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, was also in attendance. The primary agenda of this meeting, as indicated by the SA to the Governor on Security, was to review the security situation in the state, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming yuletide season.
