On Thursday, the Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, revealed that President Bola Tinubu holds a significant role not only as the president of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) but also as a leader of Nigeria. This statement was made during a visit by APC leaders from Rivers State, led by the National Vice Chairman of APC, South-South, Mr. Victor Giadom, in Abuja.
However, he emphasized that the president has the prerogative to prioritize the interests of his political party while managing the nation’s affairs. Wike underlined that political parties serve as vehicles to reach specific goals and that, in the mind of President Tinubu, the welfare of Nigerians should always take precedence.
“In his role as the President, he isn’t just the leader of APC; he is the leader of Nigeria. While he governs the country, he must also be mindful of his political party’s interests. No one can prevent that; it’s a natural aspect of politics,” he explained.
