Several nurses have taken legal action against the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) regarding the recent implementation of new verification certification guidelines.
Recall that few weeks ago, NMCN introduced a requirement stipulating that individuals seeking certificate verification for foreign nursing boards and councils must have a minimum of two years of post-qualification experience.
Additionally, the council stated that applicants must pay a non-refundable fee per application for verification to foreign nursing boards, as outlined on its official portal.
This dispute has led to the filing of a lawsuit, identified as NICN/ABJ/ 76/2024, before the National Industrial Court in Abuja.
