Desist from Propaganda, Otti is Not Funding Peter Obi’s Litigation with Abia resources- Group warns

A group known as Abia Youths for Good Governance, has described as untrue an allegations

that Governor Alex Otti, is using Abia funds to sponsor Mr. Peter Obi’s Presidential litigation.

A group called Abia Youth Interest Group had alleged that Otti was funding the legal battle of the Labour Party presidential candidate with Abia resources without using the same to develop the state.

The President of the group, Chinenye Ukaegbu, in a statement made available to our correspondent in Umuahia the state capital on Monday said Otti could not have been using the state’s scarce resources to fund LP’S presidential litigation, when Abia workers are rejoicing as a result of his intervention in clearing salary and pension arrears.

The group who maintained that the Governor is committed to reengineering the state and restoring its lost glory, and would not be distracted by unfounded accusations, warned the group to desist from such actions that stoke embers of hate, violence and destruction.

The statement read, “Notwithstanding the terrible state of things Gov. Alex Otti met on ground, with huge debts and very poor infrastructural, he is totally committed to reengineering Abia state so as to restore its lost glory and would not be distracted by unfounded accusations, which is why he has kept to his promise of paying Abia workers on or before the 28 of every month.

“Those behind the allegations are trying to incite the Presidency against the governor but unfortunately those they want to incite are smarter, more knowledgeable and have better access to information, and thus cannot be deceived”.

“Governor Alex Otti’s electoral victory which was described as the most popular and the most celebrated across the Nation, was a creation of the people’s will, therefore no anti democratic forces can steal the people’s mandate, especially at this point in time when hope and great opportunities stare us in the face as Abia youths.

‘We wish to use this opportunity to warn that we would no longer sit idly and watch politicians who had wrecked the state and who were properly defeated in the 2023 election attempt to connive with enemies of the state and outside forces to stoke the embers of hate, violence and destruction geared towards holding us perpetually down. We would rise and resist these aggressors and their unprovoked aggression.
