Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has announced the immediate distribution of interest-free loans of N100,000 to women entrepreneurs and other small and medium enterprises in rural communities. Emphasizing his administration’s commitment to women’s empowerment, Governor Otti highlighted the significant representation of women in key positions within his cabinet, with a focus on advancing women’s roles in governance and business.
In his goodwill message for the 2024 International Women’s Day, Governor Otti reaffirmed his dedication to supporting women’s advancement and fulfilling campaign promises. He disclosed plans to provide N100,000 to at least 50 individuals per ward, aiming to stimulate grassroots businesses and foster wealth creation across the state.
Governor Otti emphasized the theme of this year’s International Women’s Day, “Inspire Inclusion,” and outlined his government’s deliberate efforts to empower women through increased budgetary allocations and strategic appointments. He highlighted the unprecedented number of women in leadership positions across various sectors, underscoring the administration’s gender sensitivity.
