ABIA WELCOMES INVESTORS, OTTI ASSERTS AS SIGNATURE BANK LAUNCHES IN ABIA

Dr. Alex Otti OFR, the Governor of Abia State, assures the business community of Abia’s openness to various legal ventures, emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting investors and stimulating the State’s economy. The remarks were made at the official opening of two branches of Signature Bank Limited in Aba and Umuahia, highlighting the growing confidence in Abia’s business potential.

Governor Otti declared, “Abia is open for business, whether in banking, finance, trade, or major enterprises. We pledge our support, and when your business is ready to launch, invite us; we will celebrate with you.” He reiterated the administration’s dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment and supporting small and medium-scale enterprises.

While clarifying that he is no longer associated with Signature Bank’s board, Governor Otti expressed optimism about attracting more businesses to Abia in the coming months. He emphasized the State’s strategic position for investments, citing discussions with eager investors and the government’s proactive approach to decision-making, infrastructure development, security, and environmental sustainability.

Governor Otti commended Signature Bank for choosing Aba and Umuahia for simultaneous branch openings, considering it a validation of the government’s positive efforts. He expressed pride in the bank’s growth within a year and encouraged a partnership between Signature Bank and the Abia business community.

The Chairman of Signature Bank’s Board, Dr. Mutiu Summonu, represented by Mazi Uzoma Nwankwo, pledged the bank’s active involvement in Governor Otti’s vision to make Abia the best State in Nigeria. He emphasized their commitment to supporting small and micro-scale enterprises for economic development.

Mr. Godwin Nosike, the Managing Director of Signature Bank, highlighted the launch of branches in Aba and Umuahia as a response to the opportunities in Abia State. He outlined the bank’s mission to provide comprehensive financial services tailored to meet the needs of customers in the State.
