APC Senatorial Candidate Erondu Jnr Hails APC Primaries, Lauds President Tinubu, Kalu, Others

The lawmaker representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly and APC Senatorial candidate for Abia South in the 2027 general elections, Hon. Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr, has commended the recently concluded APC primaries, describing them as credible, peaceful, and one of the most transparent exercises ever conducted by the party in Abia State.

Erondu Jnr also lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, former Deputy Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alozie Chris Akomas, and other party stakeholders for their roles in strengthening internal democracy and unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking during a monitored national television programme, the former Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area said the entire electoral process — from the ward congresses to the national convention — was largely peaceful and devoid of rancour, adding that it reflected a new phase of discipline, transparency, and cohesion within the party.

He said his emergence as the APC Senatorial candidate for Abia South was a testament to the strong grassroots support he enjoys and the confidence party members have in his leadership.

The Uhie-born legislator thanked God for securing a decisive victory in the primaries, polling 15,982 votes to defeat three other aspirants who scored 4,556, 4,322, and 4,022 votes respectively.

He attributed the outcome to his widespread acceptance across the district and sustained grassroots mobilisation.

Erondu Jnr expressed confidence that the APC is strategically positioned for victory in Abia State ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing improved unity, stronger party structures, and growing public confidence in the party.

According to him, the APC has continued to gain momentum through credible leadership and effective political engagement across the state.

The lawmaker further extolled President Tinubu’s leadership, describing it as pivotal to the party’s renewed direction and growing influence at the national level.

He also commended Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu for his contributions to strengthening the APC in Abia State, alongside other stakeholders who ensured peaceful and well-organised primaries.

Erondu Jnr further noted that recent federal appointments involving prominent sons and daughters of Abia State reflect increasing inclusion and recognition at the national level. He specifically referenced the appointment of the immediate past Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, as evidence of the growing relevance of Abia leaders in national affairs.

Reaffirming his commitment to the party, Erondu Jnr pledged to continue mobilising support for the APC and its leadership, insisting that the party remains a formidable force ahead of the 2027 general elections in Abia State.
